About Us

M-Lead is an ICT enabled education and teaching system developed for teachers and teacher educators of Meghalaya to build knowledge in relation to their experience, practice and skills in learning. M-Lead is a computer and network supported transfer of skills and knowledge.

This platform refers to the use of electronic applications and learning processes. The applications and processes of e-learning include web-based education, computer-based education, virtual classes and digital collaboration. Textual content is distributed through internet, intranet / extranet, audio or video tape, satellite TV and CD-ROM. It can be done by itself or under the guidance of the instructor and its medium is text, image, animation, streaming video and audio.

1 What is M-LEAD?

It is a program launched by the Education Department to ensure students learn from home during lockdown. All students from Classes 1 to 12 will receive around 40 minutes (length of one lesson) of e-learning resources (online and offline) on a daily basis from their teachers.

2 What learning resources are provided to learners under M-LEAD?

Coded Learning Outcomes are provided to all parents and teachers, audio and video clips, readings, games, worksheets, quizzes, project-based learning assignments, experiments, art and craft activities, reading and writing activities.

3 How does Resource Pooling take place under M-LEAD?

Anyone can share resources by sending them to ict.dert@gmail.com. By following the M-LEAD guidelines and checklist individuals can create resources for all levels of schooling. Audio and video clips must be in Khasi or Garo or even English and must not be more than 5-7 minutes long. They will be reviewed by the State Resource Group members before approval and sharing by teachers.

4 What is the role of the School Principal/Head?

Principals and Heads of schools must ensure Unit Plans are developed by all teachers to cover all the learning outcomes identified in the Academic Calendar shared by the DOE. They are to create and supervise teacher teams de-constructing and transforming Learning Outcomes into Learning Objectives and Lesson Plans. They are to monitor and supervise the implementation of the Academic Calendar (shared by the DOE) and learning plans for learning at home. All assessments (formative and unit end) done by teachers must be recorded and maintained for individual students in student portfolios.

5 What is the role of the Teacher?

All Government school teachers are to prepare Learning Outcome based Unit and Lesson Plans based on the Academic Calendar shared with schools. Further, they are required to create learning activities and learning resources (text, audio, video, worksheets, assessments, etc.) for students to learn at home independently or with the help of parents, siblings, volunteers, etc. They are mandated to call five students/parents every day to ensure the learner can access the resources, like text, audio/video clips/links shared and clear any doubts that they may have related to the e-content shared.
